LAS VEGAS, NV -- Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET) has announced that Pat Dennehy has been named general manager of Harrah's Cherokee, a Native American mountain lodge-themed casino in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

Dennehy replaces Jerry Egelus, who will leave Harrah's Cherokee at the end of the year for another opportunity.

Dennehy spent more than 20 years in various management positions at Harrah's before leaving the company earlier this year for personal reasons. Prior to leaving, he was general manager of Harrah's New Orleans, which is managed and 43 percent owned by Harrah's Entertainment.

``We are pleased to have Pat rejoin Harrah's,'' said Eastern Division President Tim Wilmott. ``His years of management experience should help Cherokee continue its outstanding performance.

``We wish further success to Jerry, who has led the Cherokee property to double-digit growth each year since it opened,'' Wilmott said.
