Press Release: Cendant Corporation
December 8, 2000
NEW YORK, NY -- Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD) yesterday announced that Cendant Mobility, the world's largest corporate relocation company, has been named one of the best places to work by Connecticut magazine.

The second largest employer in Danbury, Cendant Mobility was named one of the ``Top Places to Work'' by the magazine which selected just 18 of the state's 95,000 businesses. In its selection, the magazine consulted recruiters and personnel agencies throughout the state, requesting they identify firms in which potential employees express strong interest.

Joining Cendant Mobility on the list of ``Top Places to Work'' were Aetna, Bayer Corp, Bristol-Myers Squibb, CIGNA, People's Bank, Pfizer, Inc., Pitney Bowes and Xerox. The list appears in the December issue.

``We strive to be the employer of choice, not only in Connecticut, but in states and countries where our operations employ nearly 28,000 people worldwide,'' said Henry R. Silverman, chairman, president and CEO, Cendant Corporation. ``This recognition serves as a building block in our efforts to achieve that goal.''

With 1,800 employees, Cendant Mobility assists over 118,000 transferring employees annually, represented by cross-border activity in over 100 countries, serving diverse relocation markets, including corporate, military and government relocation, international assignment and consulting services, and affinity programs.

``Achieving an employer of choice status in Connecticut and elsewhere is an important strategic initiative. It favorably impacts our bottom line and maximizes the value of our most important asset -- our people,'' said Richard A. Smith, chairman and CEO of the Real Estate Division of Cendant Corporation. ``Cendant Mobility President and CEO Kevin Kelleher and his team have worked diligently to not only meet the needs of our employees, but anticipate and execute on what we believe exceed their expectations. Creating and maintaining an exciting workplace where employees want to be is an important thread within the fabric of our company.''

``We have introduced many of the services we offer today because our employees have told us they are important,'' added Kelleher. ``Forty-three percent of our new hires are referred to us by existing employees -- clearly another strong indicator that those efforts are paying off!''

The article noted that employees interested in adopting a child are provided a $5,000 payment to help with expenses and all employees are eligible for discounts at Cendant hotels, on Avis® rentals and at Cendant Mortgage.
