LOS ANGELES, Dec 28 (Reuters) - Horst Schulze, who oversaw a more than six-fold expansion in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel
chain, will step down as the company's top executive in the first quarter of 2001, a company spokeswoman said on
Thursday.
Schulze is leaving Atlanta-based Ritz-Carlton, a subsidiary of Marriott International Inc. (NYSE:MAR), to spend
more time with his family, said company spokeswoman Vivian Deuschl.
He will resign as president and chief operating officer after a replacement is found, and will assume the newly
created position of vice chairman of the Ritz-Carlton board for at least a year.
