Hyatt Selects Cyveillance to Identify Online Revenue Opportunities; 'Extra-Site' e-Business Intelligence Pioneer Chosen to Help Hotel Chain

Press Release
October 4, 2000
ARLINGTON, VA -- Cyveillance(R), the "Extra-Site" e-Business Intelligence pioneer, today announced that it will work with Hyatt Hotels Corporation to ensure that Hyatt's online image is consistent with its offline business activities.

Cyveillance will help Hyatt identify and mitigate areas of customer and revenue loss by mining and analyzing the Internet activity of Hyatt's travel partners, and by assessing Web sites that claim "Hyatt-like" service in an effort to divert traffic.

"Sites on the Internet are using a variety of tactics--from cybersquatting to meta tags and unlicensed use of company logos--to profit from an established company's image," said Rich Moore, vice president of marketing and sales, Cyveillance. "As the Internet grows, these and other types of activities can significantly impact companies' revenue. Our `Extra-Site' e-Business Intelligence services will give Hyatt the in-depth feedback and analysis they need to efficiently identify sites that are diverting traffic and affecting their bottom line."

Cyveillance helps companies capitalize on the entire Internet to drive revenue, increase market share and improve brand and consumer loyalty by looking beyond the activity on a company's own Web site to the billions of Internet pages that may be affecting their businesses every day.

"Our competitors are frequently attracting customers with online bargains that falsely lead customers to believe they will be getting the same, luxurious hotel accommodations that Hyatt provides," said Joan Lowell, vice president of e-distribution and marketing for Hyatt Hotels Corporation. "By identifying Internet sites that are diverting customers from our corporate Web site, Cyveillance will help us understand how to minimize the potential revenue leakage that could affect our business and market share."
