ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 14, 2000--Players International, Inc., (Nasdaq:PLAY) announced today
that it has learned that neither the Louisiana Gaming Control Board nor the Illinois Gaming Control Board will
consider the acquisition of Player's by Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., (NYSE:HET) at its January meeting. The next
regularly scheduled meeting is February 15 for the Louisiana Gaming Control Board and February 22 for the Illinois
Gaming Control Board.
Although the parties had previously expected the merger to close by January 31, 2000, Players and Harrah's continue
to work toward a closing following receipt of regulatory approvals.
Players International Inc., is a multi-jurisdictional casino and entertainment gaming company that owns and operates
riverboat casino facilities on the Ohio River in Metropolis, Illinois; in Lake Charles, Louisiana; and in Maryland
