SANDUSKY, OH -- Cedar Fair, L.P. (NYSE: FUN), a publicly traded partnership which owns and operates five amusement parks and four water parks, today announced the declaration of a regular quarterly cash distribution and the re-election of nine members to its general partner's board of directors for the upcoming year.

Richard L. Kinzel, president and chief executive officer, reported that the Partnership will make a quarterly cash distribution of $0.39 per limited partner unit, payable February 15, 2001, to holders of record January 4, 2001. This distribution continues the annualized distribution rate of $1.56 per unit.

In addition, Kinzel noted that James L. (Don) Miears, a 29-year Cedar Point veteran and board member since 1994, is retiring as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point effective December 31, 2000, and is at the same time stepping down from his seat on the board, reducing the board's size from ten to nine members.

Looking ahead to the 2001 operating season, Kinzel also noted that the $38 million in capital improvements at the Partnership's parks are proceeding on schedule and on budget. ``Dorney Park's new inverted roller coaster, Talon, is coming along well and is expected to be ready for the park's opening day,'' said Kinzel. ``Our other winter construction projects, including the addition of a luxury camping area at Cedar Point, are also well under way.''

Cedar Fair's five amusement parks are Cedar Point, located on Lake Erie between Cleveland and Toledo; Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, near Los Angeles; Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom near Allentown, Pennsylvania; Valleyfair near Minneapolis/St. Paul; and Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun, located in Kansas City, Missouri. The Partnership's water parks are located in Sandusky, Ohio; Kansas City, Missouri; Chula Vista, California, near San Diego; and Knott's Soak City U.S.A., located next to Knott's Berry Farm. Cedar Fair also operates Knott's Camp Snoopy at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota under a management contract.
