Press Release: Trading Places
May 19, 2006
LAGUNA NIGUEL -- Factory employees involved in vital work providing armor for United States’ actions in Iraq (for
a division of a well-known financial company), sustained a tremendous misfortune due to Hurricane Katrina when
they lost their homes and were unable to return to work. Trading Places was called in to establish and then provide
management support for a temporary FEMA 250 trailer home community in La Combe, Louisiana, so these workers would
have a place to live and meanwhile, return to work and support their families. Shortly after the hurricane, Nile
Harbertson of TPI, an experienced resort manager moved to La Combe for a 12-to-18 month period to provide his expertise
to this project and insure its success.
Although they are entering another hurricane season, Nile and the La Combe residents offer positive reports from
the past months. “The community is shrinking,” says Nile. “Here shrinking means success. Residents are slowly getting
their homes and lives back together.” With the community now slightly over 100, it is estimated that they will
be there until the end of November.
Trading Places International is a 30-year veteran of the travel and vacation ownership industries. It is the only
vertically integrated, independent timeshare company that provides full-service resort management, exchange and
rental services, plus a travel agency. It currently oversees more that 45,000 timeshare owners at over 30 resort
