“Party with a Cause" Marks Interval International 30th Anniversary and Raises $38,000 for ARDA International Foundation

Annual Party Continues Corporate Tradition of Giving Back

Press Release: Interval International
May 26, 2006
WASHINGTON, DC -- Interval International launched its 30th anniversary as a leading global vacation exchange company at the “Party With A Cause” during the American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) 2006 Convention & Exposition in Las Vegas. The party is now a key ARDA Convention event featuring world-class entertainment and lively crowds, and has raised more than $100,000 for the ARDA International Foundation (AIF), including $38,000 at this year’s party alone.
The suspense surrounding the celebrity entertainment for the “Party with A Cause,” kept secret each year, creates a buzz among conventioneers. Kicked off at the 1993 ARDA Convention in Miami Beach, the first Interval party took place in Vizcaya Palace and Gardens in Miami and featured the Turtles and The Grass Roots. Thousands of industry executives have danced the nights away to celebrity bands, including Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, Hall and Oats, Peter Frampton, The Rascals, The Guess Who, Steppenwolf, Frankie Vallie and The Four Seasons, Grand Funk Railroad, The Wallflowers, Michael McDonald, and Herman’s Hermits.

In the four years that the party has also served as a fundraiser for AIF, nearly $140,000 has been raised for AIF. In addition to Interval, the “Party With A Cause,” is supported by a number of long-time sponsors, including Marriott Vacation Club International, Amadeus, MBNA Corporation, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hertz, Travel Guard International, and Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo.

“The many contributions that Interval International has made to ARDA and ARDA’s International Foundation over the years is generous and noteworthy, and I congratulate them on reaching the milestone of their 30th anniversary,” said Howard C. Nusbaum, ARDA’s president and CEO.

“We take pride in the role we have played in the success of the vacation ownership industry – one of the fastest-growing segments in hospitality,” noted Craig M. Nash, chairman and chief executive officer of Interval International. “We know that we couldn’t have accomplished all that we have done over the past thirty years without the loyalty of our developer clients and consumer members, the commitment of our staff, and the support of our colleagues in the industry. Giving back is not only the right thing to do; it makes our work more rewarding and enjoyable.”

Throughout its history, Interval International has thrived on a culture of corporate giving, with events and programs designed to support the timeshare industry. The Company also supports the communities surrounding its world headquarters in Miami and those of its corporate offices.
