Press Release: The Moorings
October 20, 2005
CLEARWATER, FL -- Footloose Sailing Charters announced during the recent US Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland an expansion into the Windward Islands of the Caribbean with the planned opening of a base in St. Lucia in January of 2006. This new base will be located in Marigot Bay and will open up the Windward Islands from St. Lucia to Grenada for Footloose customers. Sailors will be able to enjoy the beauty of these islands on a bareboat fleet ranging from 38- to 50-feet and with a mix of monohulls and catamarans. "It is very fitting that as Footloose celebrates its 10th anniversary we are able to add another Caribbean destination for Footloose charter customers, which is the fourth new destination in the past year for Footloose," commented Raul Bermudez, vice president of charter of sales and marketing. "Footloose has been providing the right equipment at the lowest cost for 10 years and now this combination can be enjoyed in not only the British Virgin Islands, New Zealand and Tonga but down island in the Windwards." Footloose announced earlier this year the addition of two new bases in New Zealand and one in Tonga.

Footloose Offers The Windward Islands - Cruise From Marigot Bay, St. Lucia

Sailors can now cruise the beautiful waters from St. Lucia to Grenada with Footloose. Begin your sailing trip in Marigot Bay from a new marina and resort village which offers the charm of a West Indies village with all of the amenities of the new world. Depart our base for a short sail to the amazing Pitons, twin peaks rising over 2,000 feet from the water's edge. Visit the dormant volcano at Soufriere and relax in the sulphur spring pools at Diamond Baths.

Sail southward to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Visit the island of Bequia where you can anchor in Admiralty Bay, once home to square rigged warships and now the home of island boat builders and a haven for visiting yachters. A short trip to the south end of the island will bring you to the white sand beaches of gorgeous Friendship Bay. Continue with an easy sail to Mustique for a stop in Britannia Bay and stop in at world famous Basil's Bar for an island style "jump up". A highlight of this itinerary is sure to be a stop in the Tobago Cays, five deserted islands that form a horseshoe reef offering incredible snorkeling and diving in crystal clear waters with visibility of 100 feet. This is only the beginning of your journey with the islands of Mayreau, Canouan, Petit St. Vincent and Grenada still awaiting your discovery.

The Footloose fleet will provide a choice of models ranging from 40- to 50-foot monohulls and 38- and 45-foot catamarans. Each yacht is designed for cruising comfort and completely outfitted at the highest level.
