ORLANDO, FL -- Fairfield Resorts, Inc., the largest vacation ownership company in the world with more than 450,000
owners, announced March 14 that Richard M. Jackson has joined the company as vice president of rental sales and
channel marketing.
A veteran of 25 years in the travel and hospitality industries, Jackson comes to Fairfield from Universal Orlando
Resort, where he spent 18 years and most recently served as vice president of domestic and international sales.
In his new role with Fairfield, Jackson will be responsible for the development and execution of profitable strategies
for rental operations company-wide. In addition, he will oversee a variety of owner and guest reservation services
for a portfolio of 70 resorts throughout the U.S. Jackson will be based at Fairfield Resorts’ corporate headquarters
in Orlando.
“Richard brings a wealth of experience in the tourism, travel and hospitality industries, and his track record
speaks for itself,” said Mary Mahoney, executive vice president, hospitality and resort operations at Fairfield.
“Richard is a highly-visible and very well-respected person both in the industry and our community, and we look
forward to his ideas, leadership and expertise in this very important position.”
During his tenure with Universal Orlando, Jackson served in a variety of leadership roles including vice president
of sales, vice president of marketing operations and vice president of corporate sponsorships. Jackson managed
a variety of sales channels, including timeshare, and directed a staff of 375 employees.
Jackson plays an active role in the Orlando community, serving on boards for Visit Florida, House of Hope, Florida
Citrus Sports and the Travel Industry Association. He was also recently appointed to the Florida Commission on
Tourism. Jackson’s first day with Fairfield is March 14, 2005.
