Marriott Customer Update on Hurricane Katrina

WASHINGTON , DC -- Marriott continues to monitor Hurricane Katrina and is working closely with authorities throughout the Gulf Coast region.

A mandatory evacuation has been issued for New Orleans and as of 6 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, August 28, the following Marriott hotels and resorts are no longer accepting reservations:

These hotels will be temporarily closed until local authorities advise they may reopen. In addition, the following hotels in potentially affected areas have been evacuated:

Alabama
The Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa (Point Clear)

Louisiana
Fairfield Inn Houma

Marriott will provide updates and hotel status on www.marriottnewsroom.com as information becomes available. The next update is scheduled for 11 a.m. (EDT) on Monday, August 29. For guest information please call Marriott reservations at (800) 228-9290. Those in countries outside of the United States wishing information about the impact of Hurricane Katrina should call the Marriott International toll-free number in their country.
