Press Release: Eagle Broadband
November 23, 2004
HOUSTON & HENDERSON, NV -- Eagle Broadband, Inc. (AMEX:EAG), a leading provider of broadband, Internet protocol
(IP) and satellite communications technology and services, announced Nov. 18 that the company has signed a joint
venture agreement with Lake Las Vegas Resort to deliver a full suite of state-of-the-art, fiber-to-the-premises
broadband technology and services to the prestigious Lake Las Vegas Resort, as well as other communities throughout
Nevada.
The new joint venture between Eagle Broadband and Lake Las Vegas Resort, called Lake Las Vegas Communications (LLVC),
will provide a full range of services within the Lake Las Vegas Resort community. LLVC is building an advanced
fiber network capable of delivering the highest quality IP voice, video, Internet and security services, greater
value and single bill convenience to the 7,500 residents and businesses planned for the resort community. The new
agreement greatly expands upon the video, billing and support services that Eagle Broadband has been providing
to the community since the fourth quarter of 2003.
The Lake Las Vegas Communications joint venture provides Eagle Broadband with advanced service delivery capabilities
and a strategic operational base in one of the fastest growing cities in the fastest growing state in the country.
Henderson, Nevada, has a population of 225,000 residents with approximately 85,000 homes and businesses. Eagle
and LLVC will leverage these capabilities to deliver higher quality services to the City of Henderson and plans
to aggressively expand to additional municipalities, master planned communities, hotels, casinos, multi-tenant
(MTU) and multi-dwelling (MDU) units, and other commercial properties throughout Las Vegas and the state.
The total projected revenues for the project through 2010 are estimated at approximately $15.5 million. The revenue
estimates do not include additional revenue opportunities from providing services to other Nevada communities (e.g.
Henderson) and residential, commercial and hospitality customers beyond Lake Las Vegas Resort.
"We selected Eagle Broadband as our partner for Lake Las Vegas Communications because of their proven capabilities
and the commitment to quality and customer service they have demonstrated in serving Lake Las Vegas' residents
over the past year," said Ronald F. Boeddeker, president and chairman of Transcontinental Properties, Inc.,
Lake Las Vegas Resort's master developer. "We look forward to working with the Eagle team to make a full range
of higher quality services available to customers within Lake Las Vegas Resort as well as other communities in
Las Vegas and Nevada."
Dave Weisman, CEO of Eagle Broadband commented, "This agreement is a significant milestone for Eagle Broadband.
Being selected as Lake Las Vegas Resort's provider partner provides us with a tremendous opportunity to meet the
growing demand for higher quality broadband, communications and entertainment services among residents and businesses
within Lake Las Vegas Resort and other Nevada communities. Lake Las Vegas Communications will showcase how advanced,
fiber-based broadband services can improve the quality of life for all residents, and serve as the ideal model
for the profitable deployment of next generation networks and subscriber services."
