The Canyons Resort First to Open in Park City for 2004/2005

PARK CITY, UT -- The Canyons Resort is now open for the 2004/2005 Season. Utah's newest and largest resort is the first ski and snowboard resort in Park City, Utah to open for the season. The Flight of The Canyons gondola began loading skiers and snowboarders at 8:30am today. The Flight of The Canyons gondola, Saddleback Express, and High Meadow lifts will be operating throughout the weekend. Additional lifts and terrain will open in the weeks to come, weather depending.

"We are pleased to offer early-season skiing and snowboarding to our pass holders and visitors," said Scott Pierpont, President of The Canyons Resort. "It's always great to get the season started before the holiday and we will add more terrain as the weather cooperates," said Pierpont.

Opening day weather brought in light snow flurries, and temperatures allowed for round-the-clock snowmaking on several runs. The forecast is calling for additional snow flurries over the weekend, and more significant snowfall by Thanksgiving.
