NORTHBROOK, IL -- Shell Vacations' Canadian resort is enjoying a major expansion in nearly every facet of its operation,
from major construction to new marketing venues.
Jeffrey Server, Shell Vacations' Executive Vice President of Acquisition and Development has announced that construction
is nearing completion of Carriage Ridge Resort, the second resort under the Carriage Hills Resort Corporation's
vacation ownership development just north of Barrie, Ontario, Canada. When completed, this addition of the timeshare
component located in Horseshoe Valley will bring the total to 250 timeshare units.
"This is the continuation of very successful project," says Server. Carriage Ridge Resort's first building
and its recreational centre, the 5,000 square foot "Ridge Club" will be ready for owner occupancy on
July first of this year and completion of the other two buildings is scheduled prior to November."
Carriage Ridge Resort, will consist of three buildings which house a total of 78 two-bedroom units with interiors
featuring a contemporary design with bold, bright colors and an upgraded bedroom package. The new resort will be
Shell's first ski-in/ski-out site at the ski and golf resort, enabling guests to conveniently walk out their door
directly to the ski lift.
In resort personnel news, Brad Noble, Regional Director of Marketing for Carriage Hills Resort Corporation, has
recently announced the selection of Nick Kossovan as Call Centre Manager for the company's North Bay Call Centre,
located about 2.5 hours north of Barrie. In his new position, Kossovan supervises a staff of over 40 marketing
professionals. He has more than 8 years of experience in call centre environments.
The North Bay Call centre is in addition to the Call Centre in Barrie, managed by Scott McKinnon. McKinnon also
directs a staff of about 40 marketing professionals.
Also joining the resort's sales and marketing team within the past few months is Brian Scott, Promotions Manager
of Carriage Hills Resort Corporation. He is responsible for various Carriage Hills Resort Corporation booth locations
at area trade shows and major sporting events. In fact, the Corporation has signed multi-year contracts for booths
at the Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors and at the Skydome where the Toronto
Blue Jays play their home games.
"As development increases at Carriage Hills," says Noble, "and the popularity of our resort continues
to grow, we anticipate that both call centres will also expand during the coming year. When marketed guests visit
the Carriage Hills Resort Corporation Preview Centre, they will be toured by one of 30 vacation ownership sales
professionals under the direction of Beth McGoran, Director of Sales.
Says Simon Crawford-Welch, Executive VP, Sales & Marketing for Shell Vacations, "With the overwhelming
success of our Canadian operations over the years, we are very excited about both the completion of Carriage Ridge
Resort and our expansion in Eastern Canada. In addition, we are aggressively looking at several opportunities in
Western Canada. Since our recent multi-million dollar refinancing commitment, with funds earmarked specifically
for new acquisitions, we are seeking new strategic alliances for additional products throughout Canada".
