Press Release: Cendant Travel Distribution Services
May 18, 2004
PARSIPPANY, NJ -- Cendant Travel Distribution Services (TDS), a division of Cendant Corp. (NYSE: CD), announced
yesterday that it has hired Daryl Raiford -- formerly vice president, finance and administration for the Hewlett-Packard
Company in the Americas -- as its new chief financial officer and executive vice president, finance & administration,
effective May 17.
Raiford will report to Samuel L. Katz, chairman and chief executive officer of Cendant TDS, and oversee the company's
finance, technology, global product marketing, corporate communications and legal departments. Reporting to Raiford
in his new position will be the finance team group vice presidents, Scott Thompson, Christie Kozielski, Michael
Dodds, Byron Jones and Philip Searle; as well as Mickey Lutz, chief information officer; John Kiker, vice president,
corporate communications & public affairs; John Kim, senior vice president, legal general counsel; and Jonathan
Siddons, senior vice president, global product management.
Following the merger with Compaq Computer Corporation, Raiford developed strategy and structure for the Hewlett-Packard
Company in the Americas. Raiford managed all aspects of the financial operation for this $40 billion region. Leading
a team of 1,200 employees located across the Americas, he played a key role in the integration of financial systems
and processes, developed consolidated reporting and metrics for the region, and led contract and compliance administration.
Prior to that, he served in a variety of accounting, financial reporting and acquisition-related transactional
roles supporting both corporate and operating units within Compaq Computer Corporation. Raiford has also held financial
positions at Shell Technology Ventures, and Price Waterhouse in Houston and London.
Raiford is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He is a certified public accountant in Texas and a
member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Grass Roots Committee (formerly the Group of
100 Committee), where he regularly advises the AICPA on finance and accounting matters of interest to the organization's
members and constituents.
Raiford replaces Ted McNamara, who is departing after eight years of service to Cendant TDS companies to relocate
to his hometown in Maine.
