June 24, 2003
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL -- The much-anticipated spa at Laterra has a new partner. The PGA TOUR has entered into an agreement
with Hillman Properties, Inc. to create the PGA TOUR Spa at Laterra, the first such facility to bear the TOUR name.
The world-class, full-service spa will be located in the King & Bear at World Golf Village in St. Augustine,
FL, as part of the Laterra community.
Designed by noted spa architect Robert D. Henry, the European-style facility is scheduled to open by winter 2004/2005.
It will incorporate a TOUR theme and provide special golf-enhancement services and fitness programs that are used
on the PGA TOUR. A full range of professional spa services also will be available, as well as a health club, retail
boutique and salon.
"This ground-breaking partnership with the esteemed PGA TOUR will help establish the spa at Laterra as the
singular destination and amenity it is designed to be," said Vaughan Blaxter, Chairman of the Board of Hillman
Properties, Inc. "Laterra is an exceptional resort community and the PGA TOUR Spa will only enhance the experience
for its residents and visitors, while serving as yet another important milestone for the World Golf Village overall."
"The PGA TOUR is strongly committed to the success of World Golf Village, as evidenced by the presence of
PGA TOUR Productions and the PGA TOUR Golf Academy, as well as the TOUR's leadership role with the World Golf Hall
of Fame," said Vernon Kelly, President of PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties. "The development of the first-ever
PGA TOUR Spa reflects a continuation of this commitment. We believe it will be a tremendous asset to the Village
and to those who will utilize its unique services."
The PGA TOUR Spa at Laterra will be the centerpiece to the first phase of the Laterra residential development,
a 41-acre courtyard community. Memberships will be open to Laterra residents and spa services will be available
to World Golf Village resort guests and visitors.
Laterra is the only resort and spa community at World Golf Village. The 41-acre luxury courtyard community is located
on the King & Bear golf course - the only golf course to have been jointly designed by Arnold Palmer and Jack
Nicklaus. Laterra will feature studios and one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units set around intimate courtyards
and lushly landscaped gardens.
The community's resort-to-resort program is an exclusive exchange opportunity that allows Laterra residents to
have access to a host of select resorts from around the world.
