Press Release: Marriott Vacation Club International
June 16, 2003
ORLANDO, FL -- This summer, dive into a vacation of swimming, boating, fishing, jet skiing, scuba diving and lounging
by the pool. Picture yourself and your family at such great getaway venues as Hawaii, California, Florida and Aruba.
Whether you like swimming with your children or swimming with the dolphins . . . you’ll find cool pleasures at
villa rentals in premier destinations worldwide with Marriott Vacation Club International.
Oahu, Hawaii: Marriott’s Ko Olina Beach Club presents beautiful beachfront villas on a private lagoon on
the island’s western shore. Guests enjoy snorkeling in crystal-clear waters and catamaran cruising into brilliant
Pacific sunsets. They also can take private surfing lessons, scuba dive, windsurf, deep sea fish, bicycle through
rainforests and go horseback riding along gold-sand beaches. For spectacular views of waterfalls and volcanic craters,
hike over to Diamond Head, drive four-wheelers into the mountains, or take a helicopter ride over the Pacific.
Land lovers enjoy the Ko Olina Golf Club – 18 holes of championship golf on a Ted Robinson course surrounded by
mountains and rolling surf. The rental rate for a two-bedroom/two-bath villa, which sleeps up to six people comfortably,
is $339 per night valid until Dec. 19, 2003.
Park City, Utah: Marriott’s MountainSide offers villas in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, home of
the 2002 Winter Olympic Downhill Ski races. During the summer, Park City is teeming with activity. Guests find
rivers, lakes and reservoirs close by in which to enjoy fly fishing, jet skiing, wind-surfing, waterskiing, kayaking
and boating amid spectacular scenery. Ever swim in a volcanic crater? The steamy-hot, crystal-clear pools in nearby
Midway are good for soaking, snorkeling and scuba diving. For a day trip, white-water raft excursions provide close-up
views of wildlife in a wonderland of colorful rock and deep river canyons. Land lovers enjoy Park City’s summer
jazz and art festivals, as well as historic Main Street, with shops, galleries and restaurants alive with activity
day and night. MountainSide’s rental rate for a two-bedroom/two-bath villa is $129 per night and valid until Nov.
22, 2003.
Lake Tahoe, California: Marriott’s Timber Lodge invites travelers to the base of Heavenly Ski Area for some
of the most scenic views in the West. The Timber Lodge package offers four days and three nights in a two-bedroom
villa plus two adult Heavenly Gondola ride passes for $744, valid through October 4th. In the summer, guests enjoy
waterskiing, jet skiing, kayaking, fishing, boating and sunset dinner/dance cruises on the crystal blue waters
of Lake Tahoe. Hot air ballooning and parasailing provide panoramic vistas of the lake, standing 6,229 feet above
sea level and surrounded by Sierra Nevada Mountain peaks. For thrills and chills, white-water rafting takes guests
down nearby rivers. On land, hiking, biking, horseback riding and gondola rides are popular, too. Timber Lodge
is within walking distance to Lake Tahoe’s glittering casinos, offering gaming, dining and shows. The nightly rate
for a two-bedroom/two-bath villa is $320.
Panama City Beach, Florida: Marriott’s Legends Edge at Bay Point overlooks historic St. Andrews Bay on the
17th fairway of Lagoon Legends golf course, possibly Florida’s most challenging course. Nearby marinas offer fishing
excursions, parasailing, sunset cruises and sailing. Rent a pontoon boat to Shell Island – an exquisite, undeveloped
barrier island of sugary-white sand and windswept dunes – known for snorkeling, shelling, kayaking and swimming.
Named for the patron saint of fishermen, St. Andrews Bay is packed with marine life. It is no wonder Panama City
has earned the monikers “Best Beach in America” and “Seafood Capital of the World.” At Legends Edge, the rental
rate for a two-bedroom/two-bath villa is $229 per night now until Dec. 19, 2003.
Orlando, Florida: Marriott’s Grande Vista welcomes guests to a lush, 160-acre resort conveniently located
to all Orlando attractions, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld. Grande Vista’s SeaWorld
package offers four days and three nights in a two-bedroom villa plus two adult passes to SeaWorld for $530. At
SeaWorld, little ones enjoy shows starring Shamu, the killer whale, as well as close encounters with marine life
at feeding pools throughout the park. Also near the resort, water parks offer some of the longest, fastest water
rides in the Southeast. If you prefer the ocean, Orlando is within driving distance to some of Florida’s most famous
beaches. Marriott’s Grande Vista boasts five pools as well as a lake for fishing and boating. For golfers, the
on-site Faldo Golf Institute by Marriott features state-of-the-art video swing analysis and PGA instructional staff
for all levels of players. The rental rate for a two-bedroom/two-bath villa is $179 per night and valid until Dec.
18, 2003.
Palm Beach, Aruba: Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club features ocean-view villas surrounding a magnificent, wandering,
free-form pool. A tiny chunk of the Netherlands in the Caribbean, Aruba is world-famous for diving and windsurfing
in surrounding turquoise waters. Explore stunning underwater scenery, while diving or snorkeling among natural
reefs, wrecked ships and sunken airplanes. Rent a wave runner or windsurf in gentle trade winds. Sailing trips,
sunset cruises, diving courses, parasailing, deep sea fishing, kayaking, waterskiing and more are available close
to the resort. For land lovers, there is plenty more to enjoy, with cosmopolitan shopping, casinos and Las Vegas-style
shows also nearby. The rental rate for a two-bedroom/two-bath villa is $369 per night and valid until November
21, 2003.
Marriott Vacation Club villa rentals are available at other premier destinations worldwide, including: Marbella,
Spain; Paris, France; Hilton Head Island, S.C.; Palm Beach Shores, FL., and Newport Beach, Calif. Rental rates
are subject to availability. Travelers who rent the roomy villas are under absolutely no obligation to attend a
sales presentation.
