WASHINGTON, DC -- The American Resort Development Association has announced the theme and unveiled the logo for
its next spring convention, which will be called the "ARDA 2003 Convention and Expo: Center Stage."
The logo, which depicts the vacation ownership industry at the center of a spotlighted stage, is an acknowledgement
and a celebration of wide-ranging acceptance by press, investors and consumers of timeshare as a prominent and
economically significant segment of the worldwide travel and tourism industry.
"Though we've watched the evolution over time, it's become particularly clear in the last year that timeshare
has graduated from being a successful niche product to something even bigger-a vibrant, influential part of the
larger global leisure industry," said ARDA President and CEO Howard Nusbaum.
The convention, which will be held at the new Gaylord Palms resort in Orlando, April 4-8, 2003, will help attendees
explore the new opportunities and challenges associated with a move into the spotlight.
The 2003 convention will also include the traditional offerings that have helped it become known as the industry's
premier event: big-name presenters, in-depth educational sessions, full-throttle receptions and the ultimate in
business networking.
ARDA-TV will make its third convention appearance, with producers already working on what they're calling "the
most extensive and exciting ARDA-TV program" yet. And also returning will be the AIF Golf Tournament, which
will bundle fun on the links with other, non-golfer-friendly events to form the first ever foundation "activities
day."
The 2003 convention expects over 3,700 resort professional attendees and more than 300 exhibitors, who will display
the latest in specialized products and services for the vacation ownership industry.
