SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Jerry Sikes, RRP/CHA, President of Professional Resort Operators, Inc. in Scottsdale, Az. and management agent for Scottsdale Camelback Resort, was presented the ACE Volunteer Award at the ARDA Conference in Las Vegas, Nv. in April 2002. Jerry was recognized for his outstanding efforts and achievements as Chairman of ARDA AZ and leadership in the effort to achieve the passage of legislation that establishes how county assessors will appraise Arizona timeshare intervals for the purpose of determining property tax and clarifications pertaining to commercial classifications.

Additionally Mr. Sikes was honored for leading the national effort to entice more timeshare homeowners associations to become ARDA members and to become active in the industry at the regional and/or national level. He is convinced and has persuaded others that more HOA/POA involvement in ARDA will be mutually beneficial. Jerry was instrumental in the creation of a special membership promotion for HOA's that included a membership fee and registration for board of directors at either ARDA Regional or National Conferences.

Jerry Sikes's involvement in the timeshare industry associations began with the ARDA predecessor ALDA and its Timeshare Council, and has continued uninterrupted for the past 25 years. He is a frequent guest speaker regionally and nationally on all aspects of Timeshare Management and is a regular contributor of articles for industry publications. Mr. Sikes currently maintains a weekly column titled "With Regard" for the Timeshare Beat, the Internet timeshare news source, and he has written the definitive book about timeshare resort management titled "An Honorable Profession".
