SANDESTIN, FL -- Club Intrawest, the vacation ownership division of Intrawest Corporation, yesterday opened its seventh and newest resort location at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida. The resort is located on 2,400 acres in northwest Florida, between Pensacola and Panama City, on the Gulf of Mexico.

The exclusive private Members' Club - with locations in other resorts including Palm Desert, CA; Whistler, Vancouver and Panorama, BC; Kauai, HI and Tremblant, QC - today opened its doors to its first members and guests. In operation since 1994, Club Intrawest has over 22,000 members globally, all holding an equity-based membership and enjoying unprecedented vacation flexibility in a private club atmosphere.

"We chose Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort as the destination for our newest Club location because we believe the natural beauty of the resort, its facilities and superior guest service standards will complement our existing locations," said Barb Jackson, vice president, Guest Experience & Communications for Club Intrawest. "Our club locations are chosen very carefully. We are proud to be part of Sandestin's continued success, and anticipate hosting thousands of members and guests at the resort every year."

In Sandestin, Club Intrawest will include about 150 one- and two-bedroom vacation homes, with 59 in the first phase nearing completion. Each includes original artwork, locally themed interior furnishings, as well as full kitchens and in-suite laundry facilities. On-site amenities include a private movie theater, pool and fitness facilities, meeting room and a private members' beach center.

Members and guests are eligible for the traditional "all-inclusive" Sandestin guest package, including shuttle service and complimentary bicycle rental in an atmosphere of privacy, security and relaxation.

"The number one thing for me is that Club Intrawest has always been true to its vision. Each of the club locations is authentic to its natural and cultural surroundings. At each location you encounter the same five-star service," said James Orr, a Club Intrawest member from Quebec.

"Club Intrawest will be a great addition to Sandestin. We look forward to welcoming its members," said Mike Stange, vice president and general manager of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
