Press Release
January 11, 2002
ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Fairfield Resorts, Inc., one of the largest vacation ownership companies in the world, yesterday
announced that Wesley Rose has been appointed vice president of sales of Fairfield Washington, D.C. at Old Town
Alexandria, Virginia.
A native of eastern Tennessee, Rose began his Fairfield career in 1988 with an internship at the company's Fairfield
Glade resort while attending the University of Tennessee. He was the first person to complete an internship with
the company, and later helped establish the formal program at Fairfield for students seeking workplace experience
while preparing for careers in timeshare. During his Fairfield tenure, Rose has served in various managerial positions
in both sales and personnel recruitment and training.
"Interning at Fairfield provided early exposure to all facets of the timeshare industry including sales, property
management, accounting, even construction," said Rose. "Fifteen years later, and I'm still benefiting
from the experience."
So is Fairfield. As director of recruiting and training of Fairfield Washington D.C. at Old Town Alexandria, Rose
was instrumental in assembling the staff to support the company's first urban-area development. Opened in December
1999, Fairfield Washington D.C. at Old Town Alexandria remains the only timeshare resort within 50 miles of the
nation's capital.
"Developing a resort in an area completely new to timeshare was a major step for our company," said Franz
S. Hanning, president and CEO of Fairfield Resorts. "Wesley's ability to build an outstanding team has produced
remarkable results, and serves as a tremendous example of why recruiting and retaining the best people is critical
to Fairfield's success."
"Our company is built upon a culture that encourages learning and development at every level," said Carl
Gatti, vice president of sales training at Fairfield Resorts. "Wesley's journey from intern to vice president
is an achievement our entire organization can take great pride in."
Fairfield Resorts, Inc., with more than 340,000 vacation-owning households, is one of the largest vacation ownership
companies in the world, specializing in the marketing and sales of innovative vacation and leisure products. Fairfield
Resorts was one of the first U.S. developers to move from traditional fixed-week timeshare ownership to a points-based
exchange program with the launch of FairShare Plus in 1991. Fairfield Resorts is a subsidiary of Cendant Corporation
