The Pan Pacific Hotel Yokohama to Join Nikko Hotels International

TOKYO -- JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. announced yesterday that The Pan Pacific Hotel in Yokohama City, Japan, will become a member of Nikko Hotels International as of August 1, 2002. The hotel will now be able to reach new clients through the expanded network of Nikko Hotels International by joining the chain's marketing programs.

The Pan Pacific Hotel Yokohama is located in the city's "Minato Mirai 21" port area, a major business and commercial hub. The hotel, which opened in August 1997, has 485 rooms on 28 floors, an "Urban Oasis" theme and an abundance of greenery, water and natural light. Most of the spacious guest rooms boast balconies with panoramic views of Yokohama Bay, Aka-Renga Park and "Cosmo Clock," a gigantic gondola-clock landmark.

The hotel's renowned dining facilities include the French eatery "Queen Alice;" a Chinese restaurant, "Turandot Yusenkyo;" an innovative Italian restaurant, at "Cafe Tosca;" and the high-class Japanese restaurant "Oshidori."

Ten banquet and meeting rooms accommodate a wide variety of functions, from a large international conference to a small intimate wedding party. The grand ballroom can hold up to 1,200 guests. Other facilities include a pool, a gym, a spa and a nursery.

This year, three hotels have been added to the Nikko Hotels chain: Hotel Nikko Kochi Asahi Royal on April 15, Hotel Nikko Bayside Osaka on April 27 and Hotel Nikko Kumamoto on May 31. In addition, the 210-room Hotel JAL City Miyazaki is expected to open on November 1, 2002. The company plans to open the 203-room Hotel Nikko Niigata on May 2, 2003, as well as JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo, with 350 rooms, on May 31, 2003.
