New York, NY -- USA Interactive (Nasdaq: USAI), formerly USA Networks, Inc., announced today the formation of a new Affiliate Relations Group. Peter Ruben has been appointed Executive Vice President of the Affiliate Relations Group, overseeing USA Interactive's cable and satellite distribution efforts for HSN, America's Store and future networks in development, such as the forthcoming cable travel network in the United States.

In his new role, Mr. Ruben will report to Victor Kaufman, Vice Chairman, USA Interactive, and work directly with John Watson, Chief Operating Officer, HSN, on distribution and affiliate relations issues relating to HSN. In addition to Mr. Ruben, the new team will include Rob Constable, Vice President, Affiliate Relations Group. Mr. Constable was formerly Vice President, Affiliate Relations at USA Networks, Inc. Both will continue to be based in New York.

Handling cable and satellite distribution for both HSN and other USA Interactive programming initiatives, the Affiliate Relations Group will initially be comprised of the existing team at HSN that focused on broadcast sales. The affiliate sales team, headed by Todd Cralley, Vice President, Affiliate Sales, will include Tim Larson, EJ Klein and Zene Coley. Also reporting to Mr. Ruben will be the HSN broadcast sales department, including Cynthia Spano, Sandra Woodsworth and Barry Donaldson.

Mr. Ruben has been with USA for the past eight years, first as Vice President, National Accounts at the former USA Networks, Inc. He was subsequently promoted to Senior Vice President, National Accounts and the Western Region, and most recently served as Executive Vice President, Affiliate Relations. Prior to USA, Mr. Ruben had various sales and marketing roles at Paragon Cable, a partnership between Houston Industries and ATC (now Time Warner Cable) including Vice President Marketing and Programming for Paragon's Upper Manhattan Division and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Paragon's Los Angeles Division. Mr. Ruben received his MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Business and has a BA in Economics from Rutgers University.
