Press Release: Core Communications
July 9, 2002
IRVING, TX -- Omni Hotels yesterday announced that Virginia-based Core Communications will trial a free-to-guest Internet access service in guest rooms and public spaces within select Omni Hotels throughout North America.

"Omni Hotels and Core have successfully worked together to meet the data communications needs of its group meetings clientele. Core's Public Access Service suite (PAS) is a natural extension of that partnership into guest rooms and public spaces. We believe the free-to-guest approach breaks new ground in the market for in-room broadband access, the primary goal being the enhancement of customer affinity," said Richard Sternitzke, Core's co-founder and COO.

Core will deploy and support the guest Internet services in multiple properties using a variety of physical transport mediums including 802.11x wireless, wired and hybrid architectures. System components will be custom matched to unique physical requirements of each hotel.

"We are continually looking for ways to meet and exceed the needs of our guests, and increasing their work productivity is an important part of creating an ideal guest experience," said Paul Dietzler, senior vice president finance and technology. "Core's flexible public access model is a perfect match for the high quality standards of Omni Hotels."
