Universal Express' Virtual Bellhop Announces Affiliation with American Express' Travel + Leisure Elite Traveler

Press Release: Universal Express, Inc.
July 5, 2002
NEW YORK, NY -- Universal Express, Inc. (OTC BB: USXP) Wednesday announced that its subsidiary, Virtual Bellhop, a door to door shipping company specifically developed to transport checked baggage, sports equipment, business materials and related items for airline travelers, is forming a marketing partnership with Travel + Leisure Elite Traveler, a unique travel-based membership club and a brand extension of American Express Publishing's Travel + Leisure Magazine.

Travel + Leisure Elite Traveler provides its 65,000 members with exclusive access and savings to Travel + Leisure Magazine's annual World's Best Award winners, plus a host of other travel related benefits. "Dealing with checked baggage and other bulky items such as golf clubs or skis is becoming increasingly difficult due to new security measures," commented Marshall Corey, Director, Branded Services and Retail Sales for American Express Publishing. "At Travel + Leisure Elite Traveler, we are dedicated to providing our members with new and innovative concepts that our club members can utilize to make their travel easier, more enjoyable and less stressful. The Virtual Bellhop service is a company which can fulfill these needs for our members."

William Cippola, President of Virtual Bellhop, a Universal Express Company, commented "We believe that we are an ideal match for the Travel + Leisure Elite Traveler membership base. Our system is easy to use and our customer service is second to none. We pick up from the client's home, office or other designated location and deliver their items to their final destination, be it a hotel, resort, condo or private residence." Mr. Cippola went on to say that, "Given the current security apparatus at major U.S. airports today, traveling with checked baggage can quickly become a nightmare involving long waits, random searches and uncertain time delays. Our clients, on the other hand, leave home with nothing more than the small sized carry-on that the F.A.A. has mandated. They completely avoid the checked baggage system. This is truly the 21(st) Century way to travel." Mr. Cippola indicated that his company's slogan is, "Where your Vacation Starts at Your Front Door." "This marketing relationship between Travel + Leisure Elite Traveler and the Virtual Bellhop is truly a win/win scenario," he added.

The Virtual Bellhop Service was recently named "Top Choice" by the Wall Street Journal. That publication tested five different companies giving each company identical baggage containing the same weight and used identical pick-up and delivery locations. In an article published April 30, 2002, The Wall Street Journal picked the Virtual Bellhop as the best over four other companies, including some very large shipping companies.

American Express Publishing is the leading publisher of luxury lifestyle magazines. Travel + Leisure, Food & Wine, Departures, T&L Golf, and Travel + Leisure Family magazines are part of the American Express Publishing Corporation, a subsidiary of the American Express Company managed by Time, Inc. under the terms of an agreement signed in March 1993.
