Ramada International Opens 10th Ramada Plaza Hotel In China

WASHINGTON, DC -- Ramada International Hotels & Resorts, a division of Marriott International (NYSE: MAR), announced the opening of the 222-room Ramada Plaza Pudong - Shanghai. This is the 10th Ramada Plaza hotel in the portfolio and the fifth Ramada Plaza hotel in China. Plaza is Ramada International’s upper-tier lodging product, offering more luxurious amenities than the standard Ramada International hotel.

In a franchise agreement, the hotel is owned by Mansion SCAEC of China and will be managed by Innova Hotels and Resorts International based in Hawaii.

The Ramada Plaza Pudong - Shanghai is located in the center of the Jinqiao Export Processing Zone in Pudong. It is 23 km from Hongqiao International Airport and 13 km from Pudong International Airport with easy access to all major highways. The hotel is part of the Civil Aviation Mansion complex that includes offices and conference facilities for domestic and international civil aviation enterprises as well as luxury apartments and the largest airline ticket center in eastern China.

Located in a 38-story building, this four-star hotel features a lobby bar, two coffee shops, and Chinese and Western specialty restaurants for dining and entertainment. Other amenities include a business center, gift shop, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a sauna, dancing, chess, game, squash and billiard rooms, outdoor tennis courts and a basketball court.

For meetings and social gatherings, the Ramada Plaza Pudong - Shanghai has a ballroom that seats 280 people, an auditorium that seats 350 people, a function room that seats 120 people, two conference rooms seating up to 80 people and two small conference rooms seating 10 people.

All of the hotel’s rates are listed in MARSHA, Marriott’s central reservations system, and are now bookable under the Ramada International GDS code NR in the Sabre, Worldspan, Amadeus and Apollo/Galileo systems, as well as EM for Every Marriott.

The Ramada Plaza Pudong - Shanghai is the ninth Ramada hotel in China. The others are located in Dalian, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Nanjing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Urumqi and Wuhan.

There are currently more than 130 Ramada International hotels in 19 countries and territories.
