Prime Hospitality Corp.(R) Partners With America West Airlines FlightFund

Press Release: Prime Hospitality Corp.
December 9, 2002
FAIRFIELD, NJ -- PRIME HOSPITALITY CORP. (NYSE: PDQ) announced Friday that its two hotel brands -- AmeriSuites and Wellesley Inns & Suites -- have partnered with America West Airlines FlightFund to award airline miles for all hotel stays through its Prime Rewards frequent guest loyalty program. Members earn one mile for every dollar spent on qualifying stays.

America West Airlines, the nation's largest low fare hub and spoke carrier, is the fourth national airline to join the Prime Rewards program with its low fares and business friendly ticketing policies. America West is quickly becoming the airline of choice for travelers looking for an airline that provides the most value and the flexibility to match their needs.

To celebrate the new partnership, FlightFund members can take advantage of an exclusive offer of DOUBLE FlightFund MILES on each qualifying stay at any AmeriSuites or Wellesley Inns & Suites hotel through February 28, 2003. Membership in Prime Rewards is required and the Prime Rewards member number must be specified on any reservation to earn Prime Rewards points and America West Airline FlightFund miles during a stay.

"The addition of America West Airlines greatly enhances the Prime Rewards program," stated Edward Wojtkowski, Prime Rewards Manager. "America West's flight destinations well-complement our hotel locations, and Prime Rewards will offer FlightFund members additional opportunities to earn airlines miles plus points towards stays at AmeriSuites and Wellesley Inns & Suites hotels."

"We are always looking for ways to make FlightFund more valuable for our members and Prime Hospitality gives them more than 200 new hotels where they can earn miles," said Ken Feldman, vice president, marketing for America West. "With more than 50 partners offering members the ability to earn miles and domestic award travel beginning at just 20,000 miles, it doesn't take our members long to earn free flights."

Launched in September 2001, Prime Rewards has grown to over 250,000 members. Consisting of three member tiers classified by points accumulated during a calendar year, the greater the number of stays, the greater the point value per dollar spent.

State-of-the-art technology has made Prime Rewards a popular frequent guest program. Members can access their point status online instantly. In addition, since vouchers are not used, hotels can accept room redemptions via reservations or walk-ins at any time (assuming availability) while technology safety checks and balances ensure accuracy. Central reservation agents can also access member guest preferences using the member's identification number, while technological functionality also allows the system to interface with America West.

All members also receive free local calls, express reservations and other hotel-level benefits as well as a newsletter and special promotional offers. Guests can enroll in Prime Rewards at any of the more than 200 AmeriSuites or Wellesley hotels nationwide and online at: http://www.amerisuites.com or http://www.wellesleyonline.com.
