Press Release: L'Auberge de Sedona
August 21, 2002
SEDONA, AZ -- The 33 intimate cottages at L'Auberge de Sedona, considered the most romantic accommodations in Sedona's
spectacular red rock country, are undergoing a complete refurbishment, scheduled for completion in September.
Twenty-one cottage refurbishments were completed August 1.
L'Auberge de Sedona brings a French touch to Arizona's red rock country. Spread throughout eleven acres in the
creek-side canyon, L'Auberge's secluded cottages, two restaurants, and a handsome 22-room Lodge make for a romantic
weekend or retreat for any occasion.
These cottages, nestled along the banks of the rushing creek amid lush grass and leafy trees, are designed as mini
log cabins with private covered porches and stone wood-burning fireplaces.
The new design ambience, created by WolfDesign of Chicago, blends classic and traditional design influences of
the American and French Southwest in hues of soft browns and blues.
With new lighting, wood plank floors and custom designed rugs, new furniture and fabrics, new exposed beam ceilings,
new bathrooms and fireplaces, the charming character of L'Auberge has been preserved while keeping its renowned
intimacy and peaceful environs.
Cottages with one bedroom are $350 per night; cottages with two bedrooms are $450 per night. Rates do not include
taxes and gratuities.
In addition to the cottages' refurbishment, L'Auberge de Sedona will begin a renovation of its Lodge, to be completed
between December and January. Each of the 20 rooms and 2 Junior Suites will be refurbished to reflect the design
elements of the cottages. Meeting and banquet space in the Lodge will also be expanded.
"We wanted to update the interiors of the cottages and the lodge to reflect the quiet elegance and tranquility
of our special environs," said Marcos Casillas, General Manager of L'Auberge de Sedona.
This elegantly rustic inn also offer the cuisine of famed chef Mark May, formerly of Louis Quinze and executive
chef of some of Manhattan's finest restaurants: La Colombe d'Or and May We. He came to L'Auberge de Sedona three
years ago from Amelia's Court in Paris, Kentucky where he was Chef/Owner.
Dining at this creekside Terrace Restaurant is an experience to be savored for a lifetime. L'Auberge also has its
own cellar master at its restaurant who keeps a collection of over 800 wines, including rare vintages, as well
as wines from some of the world's most sought after vineyards.
A special "Cottage Celebration" promotion introduces the refurbished accommodations. The promotion includes
two nights, a breakfast for two and a four-course-dinner for two in the famed L'Auberge Restaurants for $750 for
two persons for Sunday-Thursday stays, or $800 per night for two persons for Friday-Saturday. Rates are exclusive
of taxes or gratuities. All packages are subject to availability.
